As business owners, we are often ‘Jack of all trades’ because we think it will achieve a means to an end quicker and easier, particularly when we have deadlines to meet and goals to achieve – but does it?
I’ve have had the privilege of owning Elite6 Business Networking for three and a half years. Over this time we have built a strong foundation of members who truly understand the value of having a business family, who care about each other, who can offer support and give advice to each other and build strong relationships in the process.
At this time of the year everyone is getting busy, and often the wallet is getting stretched a little bit further, so it is very important that tenants understand that just because it is the holiday season, that does not mean they can have a wee 'break' from paying the rent!
I should have been working, however I decided to go for walk through Northlands Shopping Centre. I saw this beautiful, stylish elderly lady standing in the middle of the arcade with a walking stick. I didn't ask, but I think she would have been in her mid 80’s. We made eye contact - she signalled for me to come over, so I did.
Nearly the entire country used to close down at Christmas and half January. Finding a lawyer before school started again in February was nearly impossible. Then for some reason things changed. Now a handful of lawyers coming back early and skeleton staff at banks.
Well all it takes is having a great elevator speech using just 25 - 35 words and 30 - 60 seconds! Well all it takes is speech coaching, it's just making the commitment to face our fear and move out of our comfort zone!
