Fire In My Belly

Jane Butt - Jagz Sovereign PalmsIs that anger, disappointment or just the food I choose….

We recently went to Auckland and decided to book a fantastic restaurant with friends.

We studied the new comers, the old favourites and checked Trip Advisor before deciding where to dine. We made our booking several weeks prior, we dressed up accordingly for a fine dining evening and ordered a taxi. The scene was set for a great night.

When we arrived we were seated at a table in the back corner. The guests on either side were in a low casual style of dress and we immediately felt over dressed and a little uncomfortable.

While attempting to read the menus we needed to get out phones out to enable us to see as the lighting was so dim. We duly ordered and sat back ready to enjoy the evening.

Our beautiful food arrived in a timely fashion but after the chef spending time preparing and presenting it, we couldn’t eat with our eyes first as we couldn’t see it. However, it tasting amazing we really enjoyed all our dishes.

We are all critics today but few of us talk to our servers about our experience. However, we are happy to tell the world on social media.

We had high expectations so judged harshly the placement of our booking, the lighting and even the guests around us even though the food was faultless.

When we dine out today we expect the total package and value for money at whatever price we are paying.  So please give your feedback to the restaurant before telling the world so we can fix it, as we strive to make every experience a 10 out of 10. There fire extinguished.
