Plane in the fog
It’s that time of year again in Christchurch, when the cold mornings can get foggy and wreak havoc on airport timetables.
I was shooting in the airport tower a while ago, and after completing my shots I ventured forth out into the cold to capture the goings on from the unique vantage point the tower provides. As the typical Christchurch autumn morning fog lifted, I spotted this plane about to take off.
I like this photo for a couple of reasons: the fog suggests a serenity not commonly associated with the hustle and bustle of a busy airport, and shooting from the tower gives a different perspective on the airport and surrounding areas.
One could be forgiven for thinking this was a calm country scene rather than the reality of Christchurch airport.
